When IoT meets sleep, it will help create a better sleep environment by adjusting connected devices based on my sleep state.

Overview

The IoT sleep product comprises a light and a sleep sensor. The sleep sensor not only analyzes the user's sleeping patterns but can also connect with other devices to provide a sleep environment. The sleep light helps users wake up more comfortably by detecting shallow sleep states.

When IoT meets sleep services, it offers enhanced sleep monitoring for better insights into sleep patterns, personalized sleep environments tailored to individual preferences, automated support for bedtime routines promoting relaxation, improved health monitoring with early detection of sleep-related issues, and seamless integration into daily life, providing convenience and continuity in managing sleep habits.

When I turn on the lights and fall asleep...

Another benefit of falling asleep without turning off lights, especially in the context of IoT-enabled sleep services, is the potential for automated adjustment of lighting conditions based on sleep stages. For instance, as you progress into deeper sleep stages, the lights could gradually dim or change color to promote further relaxation and facilitate a smoother transition into restorative sleep. This automated adjustment can contribute to a more seamless and uninterrupted sleep experience, ultimately enhancing overall sleep quality.

Exploration

Creating  a Sleep Environment

Before bedtime, we engage in various activities according to our lifestyle. We make efforts towards creating a better sleep environment by turning on humidifiers or turning off lights. IoT sleep sensors can assist in improving the sleep environment by adjusting device connections more meticulously based on my sleep state.

Design

Sleep Sensor :

To easily visualize sleep status, users can check their sleep quality through scores and colors. We made sure that users can easily access the most desired information such as sleep duration and time taken to fall asleep. Additionally, I focused on crafting clear and understandable phrases for analyzing sleep patterns.

Sleep Light :

The sleep light is widely used in everyday life even without IoT functionality. In the app, users can select their preferred colors and specify three modes: focus, relaxation, and sleep, providing corresponding colors and sounds."

Reflection

Home IoT is evolving and becoming smarter as it integrates with AI technology. There is a growing demand for sleep sensors, and interest in users' sleep is increasing. With the integration of sleep sensors into beds and the refinement of sensing technology, it will become more feasible to monitor health during sleep. Additionally, I believe that connected appliances will be more finely tuned to assist with sleep activities
